Alan Appelbaum’s practice focuses on financial and corporate matters.

He has represented U.S. and foreign business corporations, investment banking firms and strategic investors in a wide variety of transactions, including mergers and acquisitions. Alan has been a Visiting Lecturer in Law at Yale University and has published articles in the Northwestern Law Review and The Business Lawyer.

Alan joined the firm in 1960, became a partner in 1970 and became senior counsel in 1995.

Alan has been a public member of the Municipal Securities Rulemaking Board, the Chairman of the Executive Committee and President of the Yale Law School Association, a member of the Yale University Council Committee on the Law School, a director of Community Action for Legal Services, a member of the Advisory Board of Jewish Lights Publishing and an overseer of the New York School of Hebrew Union College – Jewish Institute of Religion.
