Anna Adeola Makanju is an associate based in the New York office.

Ms. Makanju’s practice focuses on litigation and arbitration, including representation of foreign entities and sovereigns before international arbitral tribunals.

Ms. Makanju joined the firm in 2007.  She received a J.D. degree from Stanford Law School in 2004, where she was a Paul and Daisy Soros fellow, and an undergraduate degree from Western Washington University in 1998.  From 2004 to 2005, she served first as a clerk to Luis Moreno Ocampo, Chief Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court and then in the office of Theodor Meron, President of the International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia.  From 2005 to 2006 she served as a law clerk to the Honorable Theodore McKee of the Third Circuit Court of Appeals.  Anna has spent time in the Paris and Moscow offices.

Ms. Makanju is a member of the Bar in New York.  Her native language is Russian, and she is fluent in English, French and Spanish and proficient in Portuguese.
