Christopher J. Cook is counsel based in the Brussels office. From 1997-99, he was based in the Washington office.
Mr. Cook’s practice focuses on international competition and antitrust law. In the transactional field, he has extensive experience representing both transacting and opposing parties in mergers and joint ventures before the European Commission and U.S. antitrust agencies. He has also worked on a number of non-transactional competition matters in Europe and the United States involving alleged abusive conduct and cartel behaviour.
Mr. Cook joined the firm in 1997 and became counsel in 2006. He received a J.D. degree, magna cum laude, from Cornell Law School in 1997, a Master of Arts degree in Philosophy from the Université d’Ottawa in 1994, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Honours Philosophy from the University of Alberta in 1991. He is also a member of the Order of the Coif.
Mr. Cook is a member of the Bars in New York and the District of Columbia and is admitted as a Solicitor of the Senior Courts of England and Wales. He is an associate member of the Brussels bar. His native language is English. He also speaks French and Italian.
