Recent representations of Mr. Riehmer include Publicis Groupe in its acquisition of Pixelpark, Hong Kong listed ASM Pacific Technology in the acquisition of Siemens Electronic Assembly Systems and Deutsche Bahn in the acquisition of PCC Logistics, the largest private railway in Poland.
In the financial institutions sector, he represented Helaba in its acquisition of WestLB’s core business, the German Savings Banks Association in the takeover of Landesbank Berlin, one of the largest German cash bank-deals, and HypoVereinsbank in its business combination with UniCredit, one of the largest European cross-border banking transactions to date.
Mr. Riehmer also represented Vodafone in the Mannesmann takeover, which was the largest M&A transaction worldwide ever.
Mr. Riehmer is widely published, particularly on takeover law and corporate law. He is co-editor and co-author of “Being a Board Member in Germany,” an English-language manual for members of German company boards.
Mr. Riehmer joined the firm in 2004 as a partner. Previously, since 1997 he had been a partner with another commercial law firm in Germany. He received an LL.M. degree from the University of Texas, Austin, in 1994 and a doctorate in law (Dr. iur.) from the University of Kiel in 1992. Mr. Riehmer passed the second state examination in Hamburg in 1993 and the first state examination at the University of Munich in 1989. From 1989 to 1992, he worked as a research assistant at the Max Planck Institute for Comparative and International Private Law in Hamburg.
Mr. Riehmer is a member of the Bar in Frankfurt am Main. His native language is German and he is fluent in English and Spanish.
