Kara A. Hailey is a senior attorney based in the New York office.

Ms. Hailey’s practice focuses on corporate restructuring, insolvency, bankruptcy and domestic and cross-border financial transactions. Ms. Hailey regularly assists corporate debtors, creditors, investors and financial counterparties in bankruptcy-related transactions and out-of court workouts. She also frequently advises clients on debtor-in-possession financing, exit financing and loan forbearance.

Ms. Hailey is co-chair of the firm’s New York office diversity committee and is a 2011-2012 Leadership Council on Legal Diversity Fellow. Ms. Hailey also serves as an executive member on the Board of Directors of the Brooklyn Bridge Park Conservancy, a non-profit organization. Recently, Ms. Hailey was selected as a member of the YWCA of the City of New York’s 2012 Class of the Academy of Women Leaders. She was honored for her professional achievements, contributions to the community and dedication to women’s and diversity initiatives.

Ms. Hailey joined the firm in 1998 and became a senior attorney in 2009. She received a J.D. degree from Yale Law School in 1998 and an undergraduate degree from Princeton University, summa cum laude, in 1993. From 1999 to 2001, she served as law clerk to the Honorable Louis L. Stanton of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York.

Ms. Hailey is a member of the Bar in New York. Her native language is English and she is proficient in French.
