Lindsee P. Granfield is a partner based in Cleary Gottlieb’s New York office.
Ms. Granfield’s practice focuses on restructuring, insolvency, bankruptcy and commercial litigation matters. Ms. Granfield has extensive experience in representing creditors and debtors in bankruptcy and insolvency matters throughout the United States and in international restructurings. She has represented debtors, creditors committees, individual creditors and equity holders in major cases involving a variety of industries and situations including healthcare, financial services, heavy equipment manufacturing, telecommunications, broadcasting, retail, mining, energy generation, oil services, paper production, and steel production. Ms. Granfield has participated in Chapter 11 cases in the U.S. Bankruptcy and District Courts in New York, Delaware, California, Texas, Illinois, Ohio, Florida, Arizona, Nevada, Maryland and Washington, DC. Some of the countries with which she has been involved for cross-border insolvency issues include, Argentina, Chile, Mexico, France, Italy, The Netherlands, The Cayman Islands, Bermuda, Canada and The United Kingdom. She has also represented clients in many domestic and international out-of-court restructurings.

Ms. Granfield joined the firm in 1985 and became a partner in 1998. Ms. Granfield practiced on the West Coast from 1988 until 1992, when she returned to Cleary Gottlieb’s New York office. She received a J.D. degree from the University of California at Berkeley (Boalt Hall) in 1985 and received her undergraduate degree from the University of California at Los Angeles in 1982.
Ms. Granfield is a member of the Bars in New York and California, and is admitted to practice before the U.S. Supreme Court, the U.S. District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York, the Northern District of Texas and the Central District of California and before the Second and Third Circuit Courts of Appeal. Ms. Granfield is on the board of directors of MFY Legal Services, Inc., a non-profit corporation delivering civil legal services to low-income residents of Manhattan.
