Your Preference Counts: Work is assigned based on the practice area preferences expressed by the summer associate and the current needs of our clients. The same approach applies when new associates begin their career at Cleary Gottlieb.
Room to Sample: There are no formal rotations. Summer associates may request assignments from among the firm’s various practice groups.
Comprehensive Evaluations: Summer associates receive detailed reports on their performance in the middle and at the end of the summer from their assigned Summer Program Committee co-chair, as well as informal feedback from the associates and partners leading their matters.
