Jean-Louis Joris is senior counsel of the firm, based in the Brussels office. He joined the firm in 1975 in New York, became a partner in 1983 and senior counsel in 2009.

). He currently devotes a significant part of his time to bar-related activities. He is a director of the Board of the Federation of the French and German speaking bars of Belgium (OBFG

He is a founding member and vice-chairman of the Institut d'Etudes sur la Justice
, a private institution that studies and promotes public debate on matters relating to the Belgian Judiciary, and is a board member of a number of charitable organizations.
