The offices of Cleary Gottlieb in Italy are located in Rome and Milan. The Rome office is situated in a recently refurbished eighteenth century Italian palazzo located on the Piazza di Spagna in the heart of Rome. The Milan office is located in the center of the business district. The Italian offices have over 80 lawyers, including 4 U.S. lawyers.
The Italian offices provide clients with integrated Italian, pan-European and global legal services by offering a wide range of transactional and regulatory advice, and representing clients in domestic and international litigation and arbitration proceedings. The transactional work is primarily comprised of capital markets and mergers and acquisitions transactions, typically involving several jurisdictions, and the regulatory work includes advice on European Union and Italian competition law and other regulatory matters within the energy and communications sectors. The Italian offices have also developed significant tax and litigation and arbitration expertise. In Italy, Cleary Gottlieb is unique in its capability to offer on a broad scale sophisticated Italian law advice together with significant expertise with respect to the laws of the United States and of the other principal European jurisdictions.
The Italian offices are not departmentalized and many of our lawyers practice in more than one of the several practice areas identified above. For more information about the firm’s practice areas, click here.
