The two offices in Asia now have approximately 30 lawyers. The Hong Kong office, in operation since 1980, is situated in the Bank of China Tower, one of the most prominent structures in the center of the financial district on Hong Kong Island. The Beijing office, established in 2006, is located in the Twin Towers, in Beijing's central business district. The Hong Kong and Beijing offices represent Asian and non-Asian clients in international securities offerings and financial transactions, mergers and acquisitions, restructurings, privatizations, project finance matters and other corporate transactions.
The firm is widely recognized as a leader in capital markets and corporate matters in China and Korea. The offices assist many of the firm's non-Asian clients with their investment and trade projects in Asia, including a number of pioneering joint ventures, private equity acquisitions and financings. The Hong Kong and Beijing offices also work for a number of sovereign clients in the region, including on capital markets transactions, debt restructurings and project finance matters.
