Oliver Schröder is a partner based in the Frankfurt office.
Mr. Schröder's practice focuses on corporate, company and capital market law, particularly mergers and acquisitions as well as private equity transactions.

Mr. Schröder recently represented, among other projects, Helaba Landesbank Hessen-Thüringen on the acquisition of West LB's savings banks related business, Eni in the sale of its participations in the Transitgas and TENP gas pipelines to Fluxys G and American Express in its acquisition of Loyalty Partner, the operator of the PAYBACK customer loyalty program in Germany, from Palamon Capital Partners, Metro and other sellers. He also represented a trust for the Mittal family (ArcelorMittal) in the acquisition of the operative business of Escada AG from insolvency proceedings, Q-Cells in various corporate matters and divestitures, Henkel in the acquisition of National Starch’s adhesives business from Akzo Nobel and ArcelorMittal in the sale of the steel plant Stahlwerk Thüringen and other steel plants in Italy and Poland. In the past, Mr. Schröder also assisted, for example, the German Savings Banks Association (Deutscher Sparkassen-und Giroverband; DSGV) in its acquisition of Landesbank Berlin Holding (LBBH), a major mobile device manufacturer in the acquisition of gate5, a supplier of navigation software, Henkel in its purchase of the cartridge silicone sealants business from the French Rhodia Group, as well as Furukawa Electric and Otsuka Chemical, Japan, in the acquisition of Trocellen Group from HT Troplast. In addition, Mr. Schröder was closely involved in all aspects of the representation of HypoVereinsbank in its business combination with Italian bank UniCredit and of Vodafone in the Mannesmann takeover.
Mr. Schröder joined the firm in 2004 and became a partner in 2007. He was resident in the Frankfurt office from 2004 to 2006, and resident in the Cologne office from 2007 to 2011. Since May 2011, he is based again in the Frankfurt office. Previously, Mr. Schröder was an attorney in Frankfurt am Main from 1999 to 2004. Prior thereto, he worked for an attorney at the German Federal Supreme Court from 1998 to 1999. Mr. Schröder obtained an LL.M. degree from New York University School of Law in 1998 and a doctorate in law (Dr. iur.) from the University of Heidelberg in 2001. He passed the second state examination in the State of Baden-Wuerttemberg in 1997 and the first state examination at the University of Heidelberg in 1995.
Mr. Schröder is a member of the Bar in Frankfurt am Main and of the German-American Lawyers’ Association and the German-Brasilian Lawyers’ Association. His native language is German, and he is fluent in English and proficient in Portuguese and Spanish.
