India Business Law Journal (IBLJ) has named Cleary Gottlieb among the top 15 international firms for India-related work in its 17th annual report on law firms operating in the region.
The report highlights Cleary as “one of the best international law firms for India-related investments,” and includes client commendations for partner Nallini Puri, who “understands the market very well and is pragmatic and attuned to the nuanced requirements of deals in India and Indian market practice.”
The report also mentions the firm’s recent work on the restructuring of a sovereign wealth fund and TPG Capital’s Investment in UPL Corporation, and an acquisition of a minority stake in UPL Sustainable Agri Solutions. It also notes the firm’s work advising British International Investment on a $250 million investment in an electric vehicles joint venture with Mahindra & Mahindra.
This is the second year in a row that IBLJ has named Cleary a top 15 international firm for India-related work.
