Cleary Gottlieb represented The Clorox Company (Clorox) in the sale of certain wholly owned subsidiaries, with operations in Argentina, Uruguay, and Paraguay (collectively, Clorox Argentina), to an investment group led by Apex Capital.
The transaction signed on March 7, 2024, and closed on March 20, 2024. Financial terms were not disclosed.
The transaction included Clorox Argentina’s two production plants, as well as rights to certain Clorox brands in Argentina, Uruguay, and Paraguay, and shared intellectual property across those brands.
Clorox is a leading multinational manufacturer and marketer of consumer and professional products, operating through four segments: health and wellness, household, lifestyle, and international, with fiscal year 2023 net sales of $7.4 billion.
Apex Capital is a private equity fund associated with Grupo Mariposa, a 139-year-old food and beverage company with operations in 16 countries.
