The compensation offered to our lawyers is highly competitive in the UK.
The principles governing compensation of our partners are also applied to our associates and trainee solicitors. Thus, compensation is in general based only on the seniority of the associate/trainee concerned and is not linked to the achievement of specific performance criteria. In particular, we do not have any targets relating to hours or other measurements of associates’ achievements or commitment. We expect, however, each lawyer within the firm to give his or her best and to strive for excellence.
We currently pay newly-qualified solicitors £92,000. For those trainee solicitors joining us in 2007, the salary is £40,000 for the first twelve months, rising to £45,000 in the second year. In the past, discretionary bonuses have also been paid.
Associates and trainee solicitors also receive a number of customary benefits.
