New York: Evaluation & Feedback

At Cleary Gottlieb, we strive to create a dynamic work environment where our senior lawyers provide feedback and instruction to junior associates on an ongoing basis. In addition to this informal relationship, we provide structured feedback to our associates through the annual associate review process. In this thorough approach, we gather written comments from all of the partners and counsel with whom an associate works. The Associates Committee synthesizes these comments and develops an overview of the associate’s experience. Each associate is assigned to one member of the committee for review, lending a very personal touch to both the evaluation process and our overall approach to professional development. We intend the review process to be participatory, and encourage associates to be involved in developing their career paths and strategies to achieve their goals.
