Ciro Daniele Piro is an associate based in the Rome office.

Mr. Piro’s practice primarily focuses on European Union law, EC and Italian competition law and administrative law. He advises, assists and represents Italian and foreign companies who are involved in proceedings before the European Commission, the Italian Antitrust Authority and the Italian administrative and civil courts.

Mr. Piro joined the firm in December 2007. He graduated with honors from the Law School of the LUISS University of Rome in 2003, and obtained a master’s degree in International Relations from the University of Bologna “Alma Mater” in 2004. He was also awarded an LL.M. in European Legal Studies at College of Europe of Bruges in 2009, and completed a Ph.D. Program in International and European Union Law at the University of Rome “La Sapienza” in 2010. Prior to joining the firm, he completes his traineeship at the Avvocatura Generale dello Stato (Italian State Legal Advisory Service) in Rome.

Mr. Piro’s publications include the section “Concorrenza e Mercato” in Le sanzioni amministrative (R. Giovagnoli and M. Fratini eds.), Milano, Giuffrè, 2009, as well as a number of working papers and jurisprudential comments. 

Mr. Piro has been a member of the Rome Bar since 2007. He is a native Italian speaker, fluent in English and French, and has a basic knowledge of Spanish.
