Ludivine Van der Heyden is Cleary Gottlieb’s Pro Bono Immigration Attorney, working with a dedicated team of attorneys and professional staff to develop and manage the firm’s award-winning pro bono immigration practice.

Ludivine maintains an active docket of pro bono immigration cases, representing noncitizens seeking affirmative immigration relief, release from custody, and removal defense.

She previously worked as a litigation associate at the firm from 2011 to 2019. From 2008 to 2009, she was an intern in the Brussels office. During this time, she was an active participant in the firm’s pro bono program.

From 2019 until rejoining the firm in 2022, Ludivine was a senior staff attorney in Sanctuary for Families’ Immigration Intervention Project at the New York City Family Justice Center in Brooklyn, where she represented survivors of gender-based violence and sex trafficking in seeking humanitarian immigration relief.
