Roger W. Thomas is senior counsel based in the New York office.
Mr. Thomas’ practice focuses on general law, particularly international and financial matters. Mr. Thomas has extensive experience in international finance transactions such as debt and equity issues, project finance, syndicated loans, and privatizations in Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Peru and the Dominican Republic. He has also participated in sovereign and private sector debt restructuring.
Mr. Thomas’ corporate practice in Latin America is distinguished as one of the best in the region by

Mr. Thomas joined the firm in 1964, became a partner in 1973 and became senior counsel in 2008. From 1966 to 1969, Mr. Thomas served as the project head of economists and lawyers for the Government of Chile. He received an LL.M. degree in Comparative Law in 1964 and an LL.B degree in 1963 from New York University School of Law. Mr. Thomas received an undergraduate degree from the University of New Hampshire in 1959. He also attended the Free University of Berlin and the University of Chile.
