Tihir Sarkar is a partner based in the London office.
Mr. Sarkar’s practice focuses on mergers and acquisitions, private equity and restructuring transactions. He has represented corporates, shareholders and private equity funds on a broad range of international M&A and joint venture transactions. He has extensive experience in cross-border international transactions and has been involved in a number of transactions in the Middle East, India and in emerging markets.
Mr. Sarkar’s experience has included: representing Euronext on its merger with NYSE and on its strategic IT outsourcing joint venture with Atos Origin, acting for Mr. Lakshmi Mittal and LNM Holdings in its US$13.3 billion merger with Ispat International to create Mittal Steel the world’s largest steel company, acting for Helios Investment Partners in various acquisitions in Africa including its acquisitions of a 22% stake in a $1.2 billion African telecommunications joint venture with Portugal Telecom, and representing the Government of Jordan on the privatization of Jordan Telecommunications Company.
Mr. Sarkar joined the firm in 2003 from Slaughter and May and became a partner of the firm in 2007. In November 2009,
Legal Business named Mr. Sarkar among the "Stars of the Future," and in 2008,
