Leonard C. Jacoby is a partner based in the New York office.

Mr. Jacoby's practice focuses on intellectual property and technology transactions. He has extensive experience representing public and private companies in complex, global business deals that involve intellectual property rights, products and technology. He helps clients structure and negotiate transactions, including strategic collaborations, joint ventures, licenses, research and development agreements, and manufacturing and distribution agreements. Mr. Jacoby also advises companies, investment banks and private equity firms on IP aspects of mergers and acquisitions, spin-offs, investments, and public offerings. His diverse industry experience includes financial services, software, IT and communication technology, consumer products and life sciences. He has lectured frequently on issues relating to intellectual property transactions, and taught classes as an adjunct professor at the University of Pennsylvania Law School and Brooklyn Law School.

Mr. Jacoby joined Cleary Gottlieb as a partner in January 2007. Before joining the firm, he was a partner at Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati. Mr. Jacoby received a J.D. degree with honors, cum laude, from Harvard Law School in 1994 and a B.A. degree, summa cum laude and phi beta kappa, from Yale University in 1991.

Mr. Jacoby is a member of the Bars in New York and Massachusetts.
